Bandera unemployment decreases to 5.2 percent

Workforce Solutions Alamo released information today indicating that the Bandera County unemployment rate decreased to 5.2 percent in April, down from 5.4 percent reported in March.
Bandera County's unemployment rate registered lower than the overall jobless rate of 5.8 percent for the 12-county Workforce Solutions Alamo area, which includes Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson counties. Gillespie County registered the lowest unemployment rate in April amongst the counties at 3.8 percent and Comal County registered the highest rate at 7.1 percent.
Comparing the Workforce Solutions Alamo metro area to the state and nation, the Texas unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate decreased to 6.1 percent in April, down from 6.3 percent in March. The nation's unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate also decreased to 7.1 percent in April, down from 7.6 percent reported in March. Comparatively, the state and nation release seasonally adjusted unemployment rates with Texas holding steady at 6.4 percent in April, and the nation's unemployment rate decreasing to 7.5 percent in April, down from 7.6 percent in March.
