Early morning wreck injures driver

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

An early morning wreck in Medina sent the driver of a vehicle to Kerrville via emergency transport Monday, May 13.

Around 7:30 am, a 1998 GMC 1500 pickup driven by James Allen Rowan of Bandera, crashed into a house at 14200 Highway 16 in Medina. Rowan, 27, told investigating officers that the sun was in his eyes and he failed to see the stop sign at the intersection of FM 337 and 16. Fatigue may have also been a factor in the accident.

Two teenagers were inside the house at the time of the crash, but were not injured.

The front porch pillars and some of the rock foundation of the porch were damaged.
