Two advance to state UIL competition

Ian Taulli and Scott Pofahl, two Bandera High School students, earned advancement to state UIL competition thanks to their outstanding work in Regional UIL academic competion held recently in Corpus Christi.

Taulli, a BHS senior, placed first in Individual Math competition and third in Individual Science Competition. He will advance to state competition in both events on May 21 at the University of Texas in Austin.
Pofahl placed second in Informative Speaking and third in Lincoln Douglas Debate, advancing to state competition in those two events.
The Math Team of Ian Taulli, Sara Herrera, Emilee Mason and Aaron Yarbrough placed second at Regional Competition in Corpus Christi. Kelsie Karnes placed fourth in Feature Writing. Sara Herrera placed fifth in Computer Applications.

"The students did awesome work at the Regional competition. I, along with all of the other sponsors, am are very proud of our students and wish Ian and Scott the best of luck at the State competition in May," said sponsor Colleen Lewis.
