ACS prepares for Bandera County Relay For Life

Pull up those boots, Bandera County! It is time once again to join together as a community and help raise the funds to "Stomp Out Cancer."
The organizing committee for the American Cancer Society's 9th Relay For Life in Bandera County is already excited about this year's event, set for May 18-19 at Bandera High School Stadium. As always, they are counting on generous community support. "Our goals could not be reached if not for the many people that give up their personal time and funds that help facilitate this major event," said a spokesman.
This year there has been a big change to the relay; it will now run from 7 pm to 2 am. "That's right; there will be no overnighter this year!" the committee said.
"We are inviting everyone to come out and participate in all the games, singing, eating, and visiting you can stand. While moments of the relay may be spent pausing to share tears and laughter with others while you reminisce about friends and loved ones that are no longer with us; it is also a community event where Bandera stands up to cancer."
The committee urges everyone to help by joining a team or even starting one. Also needed are sponsors and volunteers who want to help make this event a success.
Call one of the organizers listed below to become a volunteer or to help the American Cancer Society "continue its life-saving mission of fighting every cancer, every day, and in every community by investing in groundbreaking cancer research and up-to-date cancer education (www.cancer.org)."
