Thirteen BHS Choir students have advanced to state competition in May, including: (back row) Ashley Collett, Destry Tosh, Cory Tschirhart, Marissa Godbey, Caitlin Lenihan, Saman-tha Browning, and Cheyenne Van Vleet. (front row, left to right) Emily Sullivan, Elizabeth Collett, April Rodriguez, Cassidy Busby, Zadie Baker and Kassie Villareal. The students traveled to Tivy High School in Kerrville on Tuesday, Feb. 19 to compete in the annual solo and ensemble contest. Facing tough and exacting judges, the students performed at their peak. "I am proud to say that each of these students worked very hard memorizing their songs, some in a foreign language, and courageously rose to the occasion," said Director Catherine Holmes. Three other outstanding students, sophomore Anna Sanchez, sophomore Adrienne Geiger, and junior Alyssia Rowe, also participated in the contest and earned ratings of "excellent."
