BISD searching for new athletic director head football coach

By Tim McGrath BCC Sports Writer

The Bandera Independent School District is now in their ninth day of accepting applications for the position of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach following Larry Prince's announcement that he would not be returning to Bandera High School for the 2013-14 school year. Citing a need to be closer to family, Prince made his announcement to students on Monday, Feb. 11 and the BISD posted the open position through their web site to the web sites of the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Association of School Administrators on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Applications for the position began to arrive at BISD on the same day to officially open the process for finding a new AD and head football coach for Bandera High School.
BISD will continue to accept applications for the position up to and including Monday, March 4, the final day in a pre-determined 20-day period for filing applications.
Normal procedure following the application period would include review of all applications and the scheduling of personal interviews to help in determining the very best potential candidates for the position.
Prince, in his fifth year as AD and head football coach at Bandera, had nothing but good things to say about his tenure at BHS and the people who made his stay a memorable one.
"I appreciate the administration, the school board, all the coaches and especially the athletes and the people of Bandera," Prince said. "Hopefully, my stay here was a positive influence on the kids and the school district."
