Trenkelbachs honored by Hermann Sons

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

The Bandera County Hermann Sons Lodge held its annual Christmas party at the Lakehills Community Center on Sunday, Dec. 2. Jack and Sandy Trenkelbach were honored with the 2012 Humanitarian Award.
"Both Jack and Sandy are active members of Lakehills United Methodist Church, where they participate in Emmaus, teach Sunday school, and serve on committees," said Lodge President Eileen Heath. "They are also active in the American Legion and the Hermann Sons Lodge."
The Trenkelbachs live in Pipe Creek where they raised their two sons, Ken and Casey. Jack ran a sheet metal, heating and air conditioning business for years until he retired in 2006. He has also played the drums since he was 12 years old, having had the opportunity to play for Mo Bandy and Denny Ezba and the Goldens. Sandy is the office manager for Carol Graves, CPA, in Bandera.
Dance instructor Stephanie James and her students provided entertainment for the party that included a baked ham dinner and plenty of side dishes provided by lodge members.
Santa also stopped in to distribute bags of goodies.
"Special thanks go to members, Leona Field, Kathleen and Gary Reile, Larry Reile, Pam and Allen Biering, Susan and Ken Hillje, Stan and Cappi Phillips, and Paul Heath for their help in making the party a success," said Heath.
