County unemployment stats improve

Information recently released by Workforce Solutions Alamo indicated that the Bandera County unemployment rate has decreased to 5.4 percent in October - down from 5.6 percent reported in September.
Bandera County's unemployment rate registered lower than the overall jobless rate of 5.9 percent for the 12-county Workforce Solutions Alamo area, which also includes Atascosa, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson counties. At 3.8 percent, Gillespie County registered the lowest unemployment rate in October and Karnes County registered the highest rate at 6.6 percent.
When the Workforce Solutions Alamo metro area is compared to the state and nation, the Texas unadjusted (actual) unemployment rate remained unchanged in October. The Texas jobless rate for the month was 6.3 percent, the same rate as reported during September. The nation's unadjusted (actual) unemployment decreased to 7.5 percent in October, down from 7.6 percent in September.
Comparatively, the state and nation release seasonally adjusted unemployment rates with Texas reporting a decrease to 6.6 percent in October while the nation's unemployment rate increased to 7.9 percent - up from 7.8 percent reported in September.
