Hondo Bank names Byrd, Gibson to directorships

Hondo National Bank proudly announces the addition of Charles "Buddy" Byrd and Sidney Gibson as advisory directors for the HNB-Bandera Banking Center. Buddy and Sid join the present directors Genie Strickland, Jeanne Montgomery, Rob Sandidge, and Joe McMullen. Advisory Directors serve an integral part to the bank's responsiveness to the needs of the community. Both are active in the community and are successful businessmen.
Buddy Byrd and his wife Karon are owner/operators of Buddy's Septic and Water Well Service. A lifelong resident, he is well known for his involvement in community events and has been voted Citizen of the Year by the local business community as well as other honors. He is especially supportive of events such as the Junior Livestock Show, youth rodeo, Riverfest, National Day of the Cowboy, and Riverfest.
Sid and his wife Debbie were frequent week-enders to Bandera while he was a real estate developer and investor in the Houston area. They moved here in 2005. Since 2006 he and his son Brick have co-owned and operated Brick's River Café and more recently added Sid's Main Street BBQ. He also serves as director for the Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District and is a volunteer director for the Bandera ISD Education Foundation.
As a community bank, Hondo National Bank's focus is on local involvement, where our advisory directors play a key role. With the enormous changes brought on by recent government regulatory legislation, they also assist in conveying that information and its effect on the public.
