BISD administrators celebrate Bus Safety Week

In celebration of School Bus Safety Week, Bandera ISD administrators took a ride on BISD buses to emphasize safety and support the Transportation staff.
Each campus principal and district administrator rode an afternoon route during the week of Oct. 15 - 19. Campus principals, Gary Bitzkie, Donald Tosh, Scott Tipton and Angela Pofahl all rode routes that their students use to get home.
Superintendent Regina Howell and district administrators, David Brown, Bonnie Hale, and Tracy Thayer rode afternoon routes, as well. In addition, bus evacuation drills were conducted throughout the district to allow students to safely practice bus evacuation in the event of an emergency.
"Safely transporting students from home to school and back is our highest priority in the Transportation Department," replied Director Kay Miller, " and safety is something our drivers emphasize daily with our students."
