Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County Board Member and Interim Chief Volunteer Officer, Dan Anderson Jr., was named winner of the Champion for Youth Award by Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Southwest Region recently.

The Champion for Youth Award recognizes the outstanding service and commitment of a local club board member. Dan Anderson Jr. has been a leader in the Southwest region for many years, serving on his local board at the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera County since 2002. He was also the National Area Council Committee Member for the SW Region for the past three years.

Last year Anderson traveled across the great state of Texas extensively, leading Area Council Town Hall meetings. He also represented the state of Texas at the National Conference.

Anderson has made a significant contribution to the success of the club through his leadership, time and personal commitment to support children both locally and nationally. He makes a difference in the lives of countless young people each year through hours of volunteerism and personal financial contributions.

"We thank Dan for his dedication to children and his belief in the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera County and in the nation," said Adriana Rendon, director of the Bandera County Boys & Girls Club. "We are proud to name Dan Anderson the 2012 Champion for Youth."
