Low cost protection for pets

The Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League will host a Low Cost Vaccination Clinic for cats and dogs from 10 am until 2 pm, Saturday, Sept. 15, at the CCPAL Resale Shop in Pipe Creek.

Several medical packages are available for pet owners and their four-legged friends.

Dog packages include:
• Package A - Rabies only, $10
• Package B - Rabies and DHLPP, $30
• Package C - Rabies, DHLPP and bordetella, $45

Administered annually, the combination vaccine DHLPP immunizes adult dogs against distemper; hepatitis; leptospirosis, a bacterial infection that can be passed to humans; parainfluenza; and parvovirus. Bordetella - commonly referred to as kennel cough - is a highly contagious respiratory disease in dogs.

Packages for kitties include:
• Package A - Rabies only, $10
• Package B - Rabies and FVRCPC, $30
• Package C - Rabies, FVRCPC and leukemia, $45

A combination vaccine, FVRCPC immunizes cats against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus Infection, two severe upper respiratory infections; Panleukopenia, aka feline distemper; and Chlamydia Psittaci, feline conjunctivitis.

The vaccination clinic is not owned or operated by CCPAL. Payment for services will be by cash or check only. All pets must be on leashes or in carriers.
