Elizabeth Major's hand built pottery box titled "Feather Puzzle Box" won first place in the fine craft category at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center (KACC) Annual Juried Members' Show.

The recognition awards were given at a reception on August 11.

Major's first experience in pottery was in a class in Houston in the early 80s.

After moving from Houston to Bandera with her family 4 years ago, she continued in her favorite craft - pottery.

She is currently taking wheel classes in Boerne under the direction of potter Sheri Jo Adams at Mud Works Pottery Studio.

The multi-faceted artist also practices the art of Chinese watercolor and is a part time preschool teacher at Kids' Kingdom at Bandera United Methodist Church in Bandera.
