Openings still available in Club Ed classes

Labor Day marks the start of Club Ed classes for the Fall session. More than 75 classes are set to begin during the month of September alone. Many classes are filled, but openings remain in all areas.

Popular courses returning are Flintknapping, Intro to Shooting for Women, Dance Hall Dancing, Golf, Gardening, Horsemanship, and all types of music including guitar, singing, piano, and dulcimer.

Quickbooks is back, along with Digital Photography, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office Workshop.

Gina Henry returns with her annual course Travel for Free. Other areas of interest include fitness, Texas Concealed Handgun training, Spanish, Dog Obedience, Investing, and Writing.

For those who prefer to learn from home, Club Ed again offers Ed2Go, a series of hundreds of topics available online for under $99.

Classes begin each month, and lessons go for six weeks.

Readers will also find all of the Dietert Center's activities and travel opportunities in the Club Ed catalog. Upcoming trips include a Casino Trip, Llano Opry, San Antonio Fun Day, Israel, Alpine Christmas, California, Beijing, Western Caribbean Cruise and many more.

Also, Club Ed is the only program offering the official Basic Rider Course for Motorcycles in the Hill Country area.

Classes are scheduled two weekends every month, and are limited to 6 students, so again, early signup is recommended.

The Fall 2012 Club Ed 24-page catalog offers more than 175 local classes, along with hundreds more online courses that can be accessed anywhere. Extra catalogs are available at local libraries and chambers of commerce.
