Celebrate Bandera with National Professional Bull Riders

Contributed

Professional bull riding - the ultimate contest between man and beast - is considered one of the most dangerous sports in the world. The most popular event at rodeos, bull riding creates so much excitement, it has become a stand-alone sport.

For this reason, Celebrate Bandera again features Ancira GMC National Professional Bull Riders Challenge produced by NPBR, Inc. and the "Hottest 8 Seconds of the Year" during Labor Day weekend.

Organized in 2000, the National Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (NPBR) is based in Dayton, Texas, producing energetic, high quality events in markets like Bandera. The NPBR offers participants handsome payouts; well cared for bucking stock; and a complete, family-oriented production package. The fast, fun and furious action attracts top bull riders from across the nation.

Title sponsor Ancira GMC from Boerne offers locals and visitors an opportunity for two evenings of exciting bull riding action at Mansfield Park, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2.

Presenting sponsors are Buddy's Water Well and Septic Service and Twin Elm Guest Ranch. Gates open at 6 pm on Saturday. The Celebrate Bandera Wild West Show kick-offs the evening at 7 pm, followed by the NPBR Bull Rider's Challenge at 8 pm. The Bull Rider's Challenge continues on Sunday at 7:30 pm.

Tickets for the Wild West Show, bull riding and other Celebrate Bandera events are available at Gunslinger, 1107 Cypress Street, or at the Crawford Pharmacy Nonprofit Resource Center, 903 Main Street.

General Admission for Saturday's Wild West Show and the NPBR is $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; and $6 for children ages six to 12 years with children ages five and under admitted free. Tickets for Sunday night bull riding are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for children.
