Death & taxes only inevitabilities

For the past month, Bandera County Commissioners have been holding budget workshops, slicing and dicing the "wish lists" of various departments to keep from raising taxes in fiscal year 2012-2013.
Although the proposed effective ad valorem tax rate has not yet been set, commissioners have released the following schedule for continued budget meetings and hearings:
Thursday, August 23 - At the regular meeting, beginning at 10 am, commissioners will vote on the proposed tax rate and schedule public hearings.
Thursday, Sept. 13 - At the regular meeting, beginning at 10 am, commissioners will hold the first public hearing on the proposed tax rate.
Thursday, Sept 20 - At a special commissioners court meeting, slated for 7 pm, a second public hearing on the tax rate will be held.
Thursday, Sept. 27 - At the regular meeting, beginning at 10 am, commissioners will
• Hold a public hearing on the proposed budget
• Vote to adopt the budget
• Vote to adopt the tax rate
• Vote to ratify the property tax increase reflected in the budget
