BEC board elects new officers director announces resignation

As required by Bandera Electric Cooperative's by-laws, its board of directors elected new board officers subsequent to BEC's Annual Meeting earlier this month. The newly elected board officers are as follows:

President - Don Enders, Vice

President - Rob Sandidge, and

Secretary/Treasurer - Roger C. Swift.

During this meeting BEC's District 6 Director Kerry Sweatt announced that he was resigning from the board for personal reasons related to the growth of his business interests.

Sweatt was elected as a director in 2003, and served his last two years as BEC's board president. His good work did much to make BEC the strong and effective organization that it is today, a spokesman for the cooperative said.

The board sincerely thanked Sweatt for his nine years of dedicated and diligent service and regretfully accepted his resignation.

The board will begin the search for candidates to fill the District 6 director position in the near future.

As in the past, this will be an open process that affords all qualified District 6 members an opportunity to apply for the position. District 6 consists of the Hunt, Leakey and Concan areas.
