RiverFest Open Car Show sponsored by Texas Street Customs
Those who love cars - especially the detail of fine vintage machines polished and sparkling like new - won't want to miss the Open Car Show at the 15th annual Bandera RiverFest at Bandera City Park Saturday, June 30.
Bandera's newest business, Texas Street Customs, is serving as presenting sponsor of this year's Open Car event. Texas Street Customs specializes in complete car restoration and will have examples of their handy work on display. They can handle custom exhaust, soda and sand blasters to custom paint jobs. The guys at Texas Street Customs are considered the best and their motto, "Restoring America one Dream at A Time," fits them perfectly.
The car show allows everyone to stroll through the cars and look or dust off what's in the barn or garage, and drive it, trailer it or haul it to the ultimate picnic on the banks of the Medina River. Who knows?
You might win one of the trophies to be awarded. People from Bandera and all over Texas have been invited to come join the fun and show their "wheels" for the day.
The car show involves everyone as visitors have an opportunity to vote for their favorite. The top 20 vehicles with the most votes will win trophies designed by well-known sculptor, Esther Benedict. Other awards include the Presidents Award, Sponsor's Award, Mayor's Award, Best of Show, and People's Choice.
For those without a car, but with lots of car parts are advised to pack 'em up and head out to the RiverFest Swap Meet! Stick a "For Sale" sign them and see what happens!
The 15th annual Bandera Riverfest features lots of water activities including a river rodeo, kayak races and the "Anything that Floats" Regatta. There will be a CTBA Barbecue Cook-off, arts and crafts and lots of music, including the Bandera Idol competition and finals.
Gates open at 10 am and ticket prices are $10 for adults; $5, seniors 55 and active military with ID, as well as children 12 years and under, are free.
