One-vehicle crash requires AirLife

A one-vehicle rollover accident on State Highway 16 North near the intersection of River Bend Road resulted in two persons going to University Hospital Friday, May 18.

According to Department of Public Safety reports, Mishael Parks, 19, of Bandera, was driving a 2008 Nissan SUV north when witnesses report the vehicle left the road. The driver appeared to over-correct and the vehicle rolled over onto the roof and hood.

The vehicle skidded across two lanes of the highway, rolled back over and went through the borrow ditch, coming to rest in the fence of a private property.

Parks was air-lifted to University Hospital.

A passenger in the vehicle, Christy Zentner, 36, also of Bandera, was transported to University via Bandera County EMS ambulance.

Both sustained serious injuries.

The DPS is awaiting toxicology results before completing its investigation into the crash.

According to Bandera County Sheriff's Office reports, there were three major accidents and 4 minor accidents investigated by BCSO deputies during the week of May 15 through May 21.

During the week of May 22 through May 29, the BCSO reported five major accidents and two minor accidents.

There were 53 traffic offenses committed and 17 reckless driving charges during this period that covered the Memorial Day weekend activities.
