Garden club hosts Earth Day celebration

The Madrona Garden Club invites everyone to join them in celebrating Earth Day Friday, May 4 beginning around noon.

Kermit the Frog again sings, "It's not easy being green" but this year's celebration will feature Hill Country Elementary School fifth graders singing, reciting original poems, displaying earth art and talking about the importance of conservation.

The garden club will continue its annual Earth Day tradition of planting a tree.

"Our little celebration is open to the public and free of charge," said Darlene Logan, a spokesman for the club. "Water and ice cream sandwiches will be provided. Bring a sack lunch and join us!"
