Hill Country Association of SWCDS to meet May 9

The Hill Country Association of Soil and water Conservation Districts (HCASWCDS) will meet Wednesday, May 9, at the American Legion Hall in Rocksprings for its annual spring tour and business meeting. The meeting will begin at 10 am followed by an after lunch tour of the award winning Llano Springs Ranch.

Llano Springs Ranch, Ltd. is a 4,650 acre family owned and operated ranch located at the headwaters of the South Llano River near Junction.

Owned and operated by the Tom Vandiver family, the ranch land and game have been intensively managed for the production of trophy whitetail deer since 1994. A limited herd of axis and fallow deer also thrive on the ranch.

During the business session SWCD directors will receive updates on state and national soil and water conservation programs and issues from state and regional soil and water conservation leaders.

Twenty soil and water conservation districts in the Edwards Plateau region of the state are members of the HCASWCDS, including Bandera County.
