Time to get the trash out of Medina Lake

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

A group of concerned citizens have banded together to organize the clean up of Medina Lake. Operation Lake Trash Day will be held Saturday, April 21.

All items pulled from the lakebed may be delivered to the County Waste Collection Station on 8th Street, across from Lakehills United Methodist Church, where it will be accepted at no charge.

Collection hours are from 8 am until noon, and from 1 pm until 5 pm.

Precinct 2 County Commissioner Bobby Harris made the arrangements through Commissioners Court to offer this free trash collection special for his constituents.

Organizers urge residents of the area to take this opportunity to pull barrels, metal and other trash from the lake at this time.

"Please cooperate by collecting only trash from the lake bed," said spokesman Sharon Halliday Edwards. "Absolutely no household trash, please!"

Get some friends and neighbors together and make this a team effort to beautify Medina Lake.
