Online BEC outage map released


Bandera Electric has announced the release of an online outage map available at


With the map, members of the cooperative will be able to identify and monitor progress on current outages. You can view the general location of outages can be viewed to verify if an outage in a specific area has been reported. The map also allows members to see approximately how many meters are without power; determine if a crew has been dispatched; and identify when power is restored. This tool will give Bandera Electric members instant information on outages and allow the cooperative to easily communicate with members.

Established in 1938, the Bandera Electric Cooperative, Inc. provides electric service to over 32,200 meters in seven Hill Country counties, including Bandera, Bexar, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Real and Uvalde. BEC owns approximately $160 million in assets, including equipment, in 15 power substations and over 4,400 miles of line. The Co-op has 94 employees.
