BISD board of trustees taps Howell to be BISD superintendent

Regina Howell signs her contract as the new Bandera ISD Superintendent while Board President, Dr. Barbara Skipper looks on.

The BISD board of trustees met Wednesday, Feb. 29 and officially tapped Howell to be the new Bandera ISD Superintendent.

Howell had been named lone finalist for the job at the beginning of February. She has worked for Bandera ISD in a variety of capacities during the past 16 years.

She has been a high school Spanish teacher, assistant principal at Hill Country Elementary, principal at Alkek Elementary, and Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Student Services, as well as serving for several months as interim superintendent. "I am humbled by the privilege that the Board has extended to me. Bandera ISD is a wonderful place for kids and teachers.

I am proud to be able to work with all of the parents, teachers, administrators and patrons of our district," said Howell.
