Vanishing biker delivers bad Valentine message

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

A careless motorcyclist may have caused a fellow biker to suffer serious injuries before continuing on his merry way during a Feb. 14 accident.

According to DPS reports, Gary Dickerson, 63, of Kerrville, was traveling north on State Highway 16 north of Medina when the incident occurred.

Dickerson was following behind his brother when they encountered an unknown biker traveling south in their lane. Both veered to avoid the third rider when Dickerson's 2003 Harley laid over on it's side and skidded.

The accident happened at 2:26 pm about .2 mile south of Wallace Creek.

Dickerson was transported by AirLife to University Hospital in San Antonio with serious injuries.

He was not wearing a helmet.

The biker who contributed to the accident has not been identified.
