Department of Public Safety troopers investigated several injury accidents in Bandera County this month.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Christopher Halsted, 42, of Austin, was transported to Boerne Methodist by EMS after his motorcycle was struck by a car. According to witnesses, Halsted was traveling north on State Highway 16 in the right lane. A 2008 Lexus driven by Sherry Lumley, 58, of San Antonio, also traveling north, apparently moved from the left lane into the right and struck Halsted.
The accident occurred at 4:20 pm on 16 just .2 mile from the 46 intersection.
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, a two-vehicle crash happened on English Crossing Road near the intersection with FM 1283 at 7:51 am.
Leslie Williams, 51, from Camp Wood, was taken to Boerne Methodist and then transferred to a San Antonio hospital.
Renessa Sanders, 18, of Pipe Creek, was treated at the scene and released.
According to DPS reports, Williams was apparently traveling west on English Crossing in her 2008 Prius when she began to make a U-turn.
Sanders, who was traveling behind Williams, driving a '98 Ford F-150 ran into Williams' vehicle.
The early morning sun may have been a factor in the accident. Williams was cited for making an unsafe turn.
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Christina Coker, 22, of Medina, lost a match-up with a hill country deer. Coker, driving a Jeep Liberty SUV, was traveling west on RM 337 at 5:30 pm when a deer jumped out in front of her vehicle. Coker drove off the roadway trying to avoid the animal and over-corrected. The vehicle turned over in the road ditch.
Coker had two male passengers in the vehicle, a 15-year-old and a 3-year-old. Coker and the teenager were transported to Sid Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.
