Howell named lone finalist for BISD superintendency

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

Bandera ISD Board President Dr. Barbara Skipper announced that Interim Superintendent Regina Howell has been named lone finalist for the position of superintendent. Skipper made the announcement at a Monday, Feb. 6, called meeting of the board of trustees.

Howell has been serving the district as the interim superintendent for the past seven months, following the resignation of Superintendent Kevin Dyes.

Ms. Howell began her career with the Bandera ISD as a Spanish teacher in 1996. She advanced to the position of assistant principal at Hill Country Elementary, principal at Alkek Elementary, executive director of personnel and assistant superintendent under two former superintendents.

The board posted the opening for the superintendency in January. At that time, they also extended Howell's multi-year contract to 2017.
