DPS deals with injury accidents

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC Staff Writer

Glenn Allen Robbins, 58, was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Friday, Jan. 20. Robbins was air-lifted to University Hospital in San Antonio.

According to Department of Public Safety reports, Robbins was traveling east on FM 337 when a deer ran out in front of him. He struck the animal, lost control of the bike and ended up in the barrow ditch.

The accident occurred around 6:45 pm.
Robbins is from Columbus, Ohio.

On Monday, Jan. 23, Bandera County morning rush hour traffic in the Pipe Creek area was slowed by a major 2-vehicle crash at the intersection of FM 1283 and State Highway 16.

A brand new Cadillac driven by Laura Watts and a 2004 Dodge pickup driven by Thurman Mullins collided at the intersection.

Watts had been traveling north on 16 and was turning left onto 1283 when the accident occurred.

Although the DPS trooper at the scene described the accident, which happened right in front of him, as "terrific," neither driver was transported. "Her car saved her life," the trooper added. "The air bags and seat belt saved her."
