The Hill Country Women's Auxiliary Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association presented their 45th annual Wool and Mohair Fashion Show and Luncheon in October, at the YO Resort Hotel in Kerrville.
The event featured 15 area boutiques, including Bandera's Shoe Biz, from throughout the Hill County. The fashions featured in the style show were all fashioned - either wholly or in part of wool or mohair.
Again, this year, the organization raised around $20,000 for scholarships awarded to 20 students majoring in a field related to agriculture. The scholarships will be awarded to young people from 12 counties, Bandera, Blanco, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Menard, Real and Sutton. One of last year's recipients was Bandera County's Corey Flach.
Scholarship applications can be obtained in the office of high school counselors in January with a due date of April 1.
