RLAT meeting covers myriad topics

The public is invited to an informational meeting of the Ranchers and Landowners Association of Texas (RLAT), beginning at 6 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the Bandera Electric Cooperative Community Room, 3172 Highway 16 North.
Keynote speaker will be Bandera County Sheriff Dan Butts, who will address criminal trespass and local law enforcement. Game wardens will speak on poaching and the upcoming deer season. Bandera County constables will also be available to answer any law enforcement questions.
In addition, Connie Townsend, a member of the Texas Water Development Board, will discuss Proposition 6 (SJR1), the proposed constitutional amendment in the November election that would create a State Water Implementation Fund for Texas. David Mauck, general manager of Bandera County River and Groundwater District, will discuss any proposed local projects to be funded by the amendment. This amendment will assist with the financing of priority projects in the state water plan to ensure the availability of adequate water resources.
Refreshments will be served at the meeting.
