Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow Dan Anderson, investment advisor representative with NEXT Financial Group, Inc., has received the elite 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award.

A member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation, Anderson has over 25 years experience in the financial industry. He specializes in retirement planning, wealth preservation and accumulation.

Anderson, owner of Diamond A Financial Services and a San Antonio native, graduated in 1975 from Texas A&M University where he earned nationwide recognition in Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges. In the past, he has held various leadership positions and currently serves on two national boards, as an executive director of WE2, an investment advisory firm, managing assets in excess of $363 million dollars and on The National Area Council Committee of the Boys and Girls Club, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

The FIVE STAR award is the only one that incorporates both client and industry professional evaluations. This exclusive award is given to only 3 percent of over 15,000 wealth managers in the San Antonio, Austin and Central Texas areas. The 2010 list will be published in the September issue of Texas Monthly for the Austin-San Antonio community.

Financial experts who receive the FIVE STAR award must pass a rigorous vetting process.

According to www.fivestarprofessional.com, the FIVE STAR Award is awarded by Crescendo Business Services and surveyed by QMI Research, an independent third party, which helps assist consumers in selecting wealth managers based on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge-expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale services, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction.

The survey, conducted by phone and mail, is sent to over 80,000 high net-worth households with an additional 4,350 surveys going to financial services industry professionals. Each wealth manager is then reviewed for any regulatory actions, civil judicial actions and customer complaints as reported by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and other regulatory agencies.
Finally, a blue ribbon panel, comprised of knowledgeable individuals from within the financial services industry, review the proposed recipients.
