It’s time for Mardi Gras

BCC Staff

In case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s time to “par-tee” this weekend during Cowboy Mardi Gras, sponsored by the fine folks at 11th Street Cowboy Bar, who apparently have never met les bon temp they didn’t like. The festivities start Friday, Feb. 5, and continue through the wee hours of Saturday, Feb. 6, with practically non-stop Cajun and zydeco music; a gumbo cook-off, with proceeds benefiting members of the Bandera County 4-H and FFA; and a traditional parade up Main Street at noon. So, bedeck your necks with beads and boas and join “Miss Opal” and Trish Beaty of Medina for rockin’ revelries in the Cowboy Capital this weekend.
