Customer satisfaction a priority at Lakeside Auto and Marine

Garland Baker, owner of Lakeside Auto and Marine, has been in the automotive repair business for over 40 years. He believes his attention to his customers’ needs and their satisfaction with the work he’s done is what has kept him in business.

His shop is located at the corner of Park Road 37 and FM 1283 – arguably the busiest corner in Lakehills. Baker had an automotive shop in San Antonio for 16 years, at Potranco Road and Loop 1604, prior to moving to Lakehills almost 14 years ago.

Baker works on all types of vehicles, cars and trucks – both American and imports – all types of boats, both inboard and outboard and he’ll even work on motorcycles. “As long as they’re Harleys!” he joked.

The business has three huge bays and is stuffed to the rafters with all manner of tools, parts and large auto lift. “If I don’t have it in stock, we take deliveries of parts almost daily,” Baker said, “so it never takes long to get you back on the road, or out on the lake again.”

Repairs include engine work, transmissions, brakes and front ends – a lot of the same work you could have done at a dealership, “But at lower shop rates,” said Baker, “due to my lower overhead.” Not only is it easier and more convenient to deal with a local repair shop, many people prefer it - because they know they’ll be dealing with the same person, time after time.

Lakeside has a huge fully fenced yard for vehicle storage and they also repair boat trailers and make welding repairs. They often feature boat “specials,” to make sure boats are tuned up and ready for summer, or to set it up for winter.

Stop by and see the folks at Lakeside. They’re open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday.
