Cowboy Christmas, ringing in 2010
By Carol Smith
With the weather on Friday, Dec. 4, crisp and clear and temperatures dipping below freezing, it really “looked a lot like Christmas” at the official kick-off for Bandera’s holiday season on the courthouse lawn.
Mirthful merriment seemed the theme for the evening with singing, dancing, hot chocolate and a Living Nativity, to boot. Miss Rhetta’s dancing dollies twirled in spite of the cold and the Twin Lakes Independent Baptist Church choir belted out a spirited rendition of “Having a Cowboy Christmas.”
Students of the Pipe Creek Christian School presented the Living Nativity with Mary trundling toward Bethlehem on a pony. Booming, “Have you been good little boys and girls?” Santa arrived in the nick of time to hear all those Christmas lists.
