Fredericksburg homes decked out for festive holiday tours

Tickets are still available for Preservation Weekend, the Gillespie County Historical Society’s Holiday Home Tour and Candlelight Tour of Homes.

The Holiday Home Tour opens up nine exclusive Fredericksburg properties decorated for the season from noon until 6 pm, Saturday, Dec. 12. Tickets are $25 per person.

The popular Candlelight Tour returns from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Saturday evening. Visitors can view three historic houses decked in period decor and lit with candlelight. The tour includes the buildings and grounds of the Pioneer Museum, where carolers will sing while volunteers serve hot cider and traditional German cookies. Candlelight Tour tickets are $15 per person.

Tickets are available online at www.pioneermuseum.net or by phone at 830-997-2835, by email at info@pioneermuseum.net or at the following businesses, Pioneer Museum, Vereins Kirche, Historical Society office, Gastehaus Schmidt, Journey Lane Scrapbooking in Fredericksburg or at Crenwelge Motors in Kerrville.

Preservation Weekend is the largest fundraiser for the Gillespie County Historical Society.
