Learning about sausage makin’

BCC Staff

A member of the Leon Springs Boy Scout Troop 2407, Joe Hedges, 12, of Pipe Creek, set about earning his Citizenship in the Community merit badge by attending a recent meeting of Bandera County Commissioners Court. He attended the Thursday, Oct. 22, meeting, which included spirited discussions regarding the budget of the convention and visitors bureau, appointing the county auditor for a two-year term, leasing new copy machines for the jail and sheriff’s office and receiving the monthly report from the justices of the peace. The Courier salutes Hedges for his fortitude. Anyone who sits through a governmental meeting – especially anyone who doesn’t absolutely have to – deserves a spot on the front page. Others who celebrated his endurance included, clockwise, from left, Commissioners Bruce Eliker and Bobby Harris, County Judge Richard Evans and Commissioners Doug King and Richard Keese.
