Payne board certified in farm & ranch law
Contributed
Local attorney Cindy Payne recently became board certified in Farm and Ranch Real Estate Law, according to the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Previously, she had earned board certification in Commercial Real Estate Law.
After moving from Houston to Bandera three years ago, Payne joined her husband, John, in his legal practice in the City of Bandera.
While in Houston, Payne dealt primarily with commercial properties on behalf of lending divisions of commercial banks, title companies and real estate developers. In addition, a portion of her Houston legal practice included representing clients’ ranching interests. When she moved to Bandera, however, an increasing number of clients required assistance with their farm and ranch properties.
To service this growing sector of her legal practice, Pay began studying for board certification in Farm and Ranch Real Estate in 2007. She met the educational requirements, obtained references from fellow attorneys and judges and took an all-day examination in Austin last fall.
However, it’s not likely that Payne will cease her quest for board certifications in the near future.
As she noted, “Identifying and meeting new challenges has been a part of my life thus far and I doubt I’m going to change.”
