Baubles & Boots celebration this Saturday Gala funds grants for Bandera ISD teachers

It happens just once a year, and the Baubles and Boots Celebration is right around the corner. This year the event will take place from 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm, Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Flying A Ranch in Bandera.
Local artists and merchants have donated items for both live and silent auctions.
The Bandera Independent School District Education Education Foundation sponsors the gala and proceeds from the event are earmarked for educator grants for innovative classroom instruction.
Live auction merchandise includes a custom hunting knife created by Tim Churchman featuring mirror polished stainless steel blade with vine file work and elk horn handle; a top of the line Yeti cooler from Hevenor Lumber; designer sunglasses from Dietz McLean Optical, mesquite wall art by wood craftsman Buddy Koburg; a custom-decorated art boot with a hunting scene by local artist Amy Kepp; blue topaz dinner ring and pendant set in sterling silver and 18K gold donated by Green Bull Jewelry; and a custom designed jewelry box by artist Elizabeth Scott.
The silent auction will include a variety of gift certificates and gift baskets from local businesses, as well a family set of five Bandera ISD All Sport Passes, good until June 2013; topsum yucca, hand-crafted items such as a custom Bulldog hat, homemade pie, Hill Country wreaths, whimsical ceramic art, handmade cross and a handbag; a processed pig; personal training session; and a framed photo.
Additionally, Green Bull Jewelry has donated a heshi bead and liquid silver necklace for the champagne drawing. The Cowboy Store has donated a gift certificate for a pair of gentlemen's boots to the drawing.
Tickets for the gala are $35 each and can be purchased at the Bandera ISD Central Administration Office on Pecan Street, at McMullan Insurance and from education foundation directors.
Dress is cowboy formal.
