American Legion Post 410 and Women's Auxiliary hosted a Christmas party for the veterans, their families and residents of Lakehills on Dec. 24.

Commander Ray White and Auxiliary Commander Eva led their members to unite to care for the veterans and families of the Lakehills community.

Turkeys were cooked, along with the dressing and gravy, by volunteers for a free meal to share with those who live alone or are having hard times.

The DJ played holiday music and door prizes were given away.

Santa, played by veteran Art Nicholl, arrived with his own natural beard and tummy.

Stockings put together by the auxiliary went to each child and families lined up to take photos with Santa.

Over 200 attended. "Lakehills Post 410 says merry Christmas to all our veterans who served to keep us safe," said a spokesman.
