Local woman achieves sales director position with Mary Kay

Laura Cataldo Allen, a Bandera High school graduate and local resident, has completed the Director in Qualification program with Mary Kay Cosmetics to become an Independent Sales Director. Laura became an Independent Beauty Consultant for the huge Dallas-based cosmetics company in July of 2010, while working toward an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Upon completion of her degree, she decided to pursue a full-time career with Mary Kay. Another Bandera resident, Tara Hicks, also with Mary Kay, recruited Laura as an Independent Beauty Consultant.

When asked what it was like going through the process of qualifying as an Independent Sales Director, Laura said, "I realized I could do much more than I ever thought I was capable of doing. Mary Kay gives guidelines and deadlines that you have to meet in a four-month timeframe to become a Director. It challenges you, stretches you, and teaches you to think like a businesswoman. August was my third month, and suddenly everything went right! I would encourage any woman looking for additional income or a career to explore Mary Kay. The business model is designed for success and they are so supportive, it's like an extended family."
