4-H Horse Project helps Brighter Days Horse Refuge for Christmas

The Bandera County 4-H Horse Project combined their annual Christmas party with their monthly meeting. Every year the kids select an organization to which they want to donate, to give back to the community that supports them so much through the year.
This year, they selected Brighter Days Horse Refuge in Pipe Creek. The kids really came through with great items for the horse rescue, including bales of hay, buckets, fly masks, fly spray, feed, molasses treats and tubes of horse wormer.
The kids also put together a basket of goodies to give to the caretakers of these horses.
Cowboy Capital Pizza provided great pizzas to go along with cookies and other treats for the members.
Members of the Horse Project thanks all who supported their bake sale Friday evening during Shoppers Jubilee in front of Gone Quilting and again Saturday during the Christmas Parade in front of the office of duPerier The Texas Landman, said a spokesman.
The first of the year, the kids will compete in horse judging contests in San Antonio and Houston.
“They work very hard to pay their own way. We strive to make enough money during our fundraisers, so we don’t have to put unnecessary burdens on our members’ families to take them to contests,” said a club spokesman.
The Horse Project meets the first Tuesday of every month.
