Straight from the horse's mouth

Public Service Announcement

My name is Beverly Schmidt. I am seeking the Republican nomination for Bandera County Treasurer in the March 6, 2018 Primary.
I have lived in Bandera County for 30 years, of which, 25 years have been with my husband Greg Schmidt. We have two adult children who reside in Bandera County, one daughter who is a junior at Bandera High School and one granddaughter. I have been fortunate enough to be involved with Bandera County 4-H Rabbits, Poultry, Shooting Sports and Horse Judging programs, Boys and Girls Club Basketball and Bandera County Little League along with volunteering at numerous Bandera County Junior Livestock Shows throughout the years.
I am currently employed with Bandera County as the assistant treasurer. I feel extremely blessed to have the current treasurer, Mr. Terry Wheeler, to teach and guide me for the last year and a half. This has given me extensive knowledge and experience in the duties and functions of the office. Upon his retirement, I am confident that the transition will be smooth and there will be no disruption in the efficiency or working relations with all the county offices. Prior to this, I was the Chief Deputy Clerk for Bandera County Justice of The Peace Precinct One and Four offices for 18-and-a-half years.
In April 2017, I received my certification from the County Investment Academy through the Texas Association of Counties and the McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University as a Certified Investment Officer. I have completed training specific to the statutory requirements of the Texas Government Code Chapter 2256.008 of the Public Funds Investment Act, along with an additional 13 hours of educational instruction at the 69th Annual County Treasurers Association of Texas Conference in September 2017.
I love what I do each and every day. I would be honored to serve and represent the citizens of Bandera County with respect, pride and integrity.
