Community art lending program call for artists

Peterson Health celebrated the 5th anniversary of the award-winning Community Art Lending Program with a reception for the 65 participating artists in September as part of National Rehabilitation Awareness Month. “Art is healing,” shares Lisa Winters, director of marketing and community relations, “and this program just gets bigger and better each year."
The Community Art Lending Program is structured to feature local and regional artists and photographers at Peterson’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC). Recognized by the Texas Hospital Association as a “Showcase Award” winner, the changing and wide-variety of art has garnered local and now statewide attention.
Artists are invited to lend their works to be displayed for three months at a time. The ACC is adjacent to the main hospital at 260 Cully Drive, in Kerrville. Artwork is displayed down the main hallway from the reception area toward the rehabilitation gym — one of the busiest hallways in the facility.
Peterson Health is calling for artists to submit work to be displayed in the Ambulatory Care Center for the rest of October through the end of the year. Artists interested in having their work displayed need to submit photos of framed artwork pieces no later than Monday, Oct. 9.
If you are a local artist or photographer and would like to participate this year, simply email photos of artwork available for display to Lisa Winters at or call 830-258-7628.
