Texas Music Coffeehouse to feature Dylan Tribute

Michael Martin and George Batista will present a musical tribute to Bob Dylan at the first Texas Music Coffeehouse of the fall, at 7 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The performance in the Lion’s Den of Schreiner University’s Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center is free to the public. It will start and conclude with open mic time.
Singer, songwriter Martin is front man and founder of the San Antonio folk-rock band The Infidels, whose name was inspired by Dylan's 1983 album "Infidels." Martin has also recorded and toured the world with singer-songwriter Tom Russell.
Batista is a guitarist for The Infidels and the band’s manager.
The Texas Music Coffeehouse series — six concerts each academic year — is sponsored by the Texas Heritage Music Foundation, the Schreiner University English Department, and Chartwells.
The second Texas Music Coffeehouse for the fall semester, on Wednesday, Oct. 11, will feature the return of award-winning musicians Max Baca y los Texmaniacs in a tribute to Hispanic heritage.
The third Coffeehouse, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, will feature a student talent showcase hosted by Buddy Mondlock.
This is the Texas Heritage Music Foundation’s 30th anniversary year. It’s annual Texas Heritage Music Day on the Schreiner campus will be Friday, Sept. 29. More details will follow soon.
