Keeping Up with Medina Matters

The Rose Garden Club of Medina welcomes EMT and president of the Medina Volunteer Fire Department, Lee Bailey, as guest speaker for its first program since summer hiatus. The garden club welcomes visitors to attend the program, which will begin at 2 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Medina Community Center on Hwy. 16. (Be sure and mark your calendar for the MVFD annual fundraiser, the Hunter’s Game Dinner, Nov. 4. Gun raffle tickets are on sale now.)

Medina Genealogical & Historical Society
The Medina Genealogical and Historical Society resumes its monthly meeting from 10:30 am to 1 pm, in the Texana room at the Medina Community Library.
Lunch time with friends and neighbors
In the spirit of fellowship, the Agape Thrift Store invites local seniors to lunch at noon in the fellowship hall at the United Methodist Church.
MCL Board of Directors’ Meeting
The board of directors meeting for the Medina Community Library will be from 5:15 to 6:15 pm, and is open to the public.
The Medina Book Club
“Field Trip" by Gary Paulson is the book club for September. The club meets for refreshments at 2:30 pm the second Tuesday of the month in the community room at the library. Book discussion begins at 3 pm.
The 7th Annual Medina Quilt Show
Mark your calendars to attend the annual quilt show that features unique quilts made by local fabric artists and seamstresses. Visitors are invited to participate in special activities during the exhibit, such as a quilt block scavenger hunt, and to vote their favorite quilt for the “People’s Choice Award.”

Alcoholics Anonymous
Anyone wanting to change their drinking behavior is welcome to attend the Alcoholics Anonymous support group that meets at 7 pm every Thursday in the Cottage of Medina United Methodist Church, 266 Reed Avenue.
