Keeping Up with Medina Matters

by Bev Barr

About 150 people turned out for hotdogs and hamburgers at an old-fashioned picnic fundraiser last Sunday to pay for camp and uniforms for MISD cheerleaders. AJ Crowther was busy painting the faces of young children and softball girls tested their aim hitting the target for a dunking booth. Seemed to be a lot of summertime fun in the shade — and the sun — at the community center.
Homemade cakes and homemade ice threatened to destroy my diet. Four contestants brought in four delicious recipes. Jane Rambin entered a sugar free Banana Walnut ice cream. Ella Castillo entered a Vanilla Bean ice cream and AJ Crowther entered a batch of Butterfinger Ice Cream. The winner of the ice cream competition was Kayla Evans with a Peach Sorbet.
