BISD students shine at livestock show

Fifty-two FFA and Jr. FFA members from Bandera ISD exhibited at the Bandera County Junior Livestock Show Thursday, Jan. 7, through Saturday, Jan. 9. These FFA members exhibited seven Champion and Reserve Champion projects
Bandera High School Senior JD Montague won the Grand Champion award in Farm Mechanics. Senior Jaleel Altakrouri won Reserve Grand Champion in Farm Mechanics. Sixth grader Katie Dibrell won Grand Champion Market Broilers.
The Grand Champion Market Lamb went to Hill Country fifth grader, Kendall Murphy. BHS freshman Mattie Morrison won Reserve Grand Champion Lamb. The Reserve Grand Champion Market Swine went to freshman Meghan Mangold. Bulldog Senior Colten Klinksiek won the Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat.
In addition in Division titles, BHS senior Katelyn Cornwell won Reserve Champion Duroc (swine breed) and sophomore Max Hopf received the Reserve Champion Medium Weight Goat.
The Larry Bausch award went to Colten Klinksiek. Jaleel Altakrouri was honored with the Masonic Lodge Achievement Award and Senior Justin Galley received the Hubert Mazurek Agricultural Achievement Award.
