Registration open for photography workshops

Registrations are now open for two photography workshops set to begin Feb. 2 to kick off the New Uear. Conducted by local professional photographer, Jeannette Joy Hormuth, and hosted by Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg, the workshops, "Exploring Camera Basics in Depth" and "Learning to See Creatively" offer hands-on learning opportunities from beginners to avid photographers.
"Exploring Camera Basics in Depth" offers participants an opportunity to grow in their understanding and command of their camera and the technical aspects of photography. This course will delve into such topics as exposure, f-stops, shutter speed and lens choices, as well as the range, unique characteristics and creative possibilities they offer.
The five-week "Exploring Camera Basics in Depth" workshop will be held from 6:30 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday evenings from Feb. 2 through March 1 at Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg. Course fee is $115.
"Learning to See Creatively" will explore how to take better pictures by expanding one's photographic vision. Through demonstration of simple techniques and compositional tools, coupled with hands-on assignments and helpful critiques, participants will discover how to better "see" and, therefore, capture more interesting and creative images.
This course is designed for participants of all levels - not only for photography enthusiasts, but individuals seeking to open their minds and expand their creative vision. The workshop offers the inspiration and techniques necessary to stretch, sharpen, nurture and energize visual perception.
This eight-week hands-on workshop is set 1:30 pm to 3 pm, on Tuesdays, Feb. 2 through March 29 at the Hoffman Haus. There will be no class on March 15. Course fee is $149.
