Speech, debate team competes at Blanco

The Bandera High School Speech and Debate Team traveled to Blanco Jan. 9 to participate in the Blanco High School Speech and Debate Tournament. Samantha Shaps placed first in prose and fourth in persuasive speaking; Andy Zimmel placed second in persuasive speaking and second in Lincoln-Douglas debate; Tommy Roussell placed eighth in informative speaking; Will Fitzpatrick placed fourth in prose; Taelen Butler placed second in poetry, Jackson Short placed third in Lincoln-Douglas debate and the team of Chris Wise and Emilee Mason placed third in cross exam debate. "I am very proud of our team. They are improving their performances and consistently placing at the tournaments we have attended," said Speech and Debate Coach Emily Huber.
