Performing classes begin at Point Theatre

Classes for all ages in acting, auditioning and even dancing will start next month at the Point Theatre in Ingram.
The Hill Country Arts Foundation recently announced the formation of its new comprehensive Theatre Education Program. Along with new staffers, this new program is an aggressive restructuring of the HCAF's long-standing educational mission.
Jeff Cunningham, director of Point Theatre and Education, said the program would "recapture and move forward this community's love of the arts by bringing children, students, families and volunteers back to the forefront of the theatre program at the Point."
Classes have been scheduled and will soon be on the HCAF website. The box office will take reservations for classes.
Children, teens and adults can participate in classes that include auditioning, introduction to acting, advanced acting, backstage skills, singing and dancing. Specialty classes like stage combat, puppetry and ballroom dancing are also available.
"These classes are great way to prepare young performers for the stage as well as classroom presentations and speeches," said Cunningham. "The network of instructors will be able to help students who want to perform at any of our local theatres or schools. The Point Theatre activity supports the Playhouse Youth Theatre Program and the Kroc Center's Theatre."
